The Balthasar Children's and Youth Hospice Foundation will use the money promptly to support terminally ill children and their families at "Balthasar". Your donation will therefore contribute directly to supporting ongoing projects. If you would like to contribute to securing the work of the Balthasar Children's and Youth Hospice in the long term, you can find more information under "Endowment".

Please include your name and address in the purpose of your transfer so that we can send you the donation receipt as quickly as possible.

You can also donate quickly and easily via our online portal.

The desire to help with a donation in kind is understandable. Due to the hygiene regulations, we are not allowed to accept used toys, cuddly toys and books. Please also bear in mind that new toys or aids do not have to be purchased regularly. Please contact us to find out if anything is currently needed.

The care of the children and their families, hospital clowns, music therapy, pain medicine counselling and aftercare for the families of deceased children, on the other hand, are investments that are required on an ongoing basis. You can provide the greatest help here with a financial donation.

Life holds a multitude of occasions for us - happy but also sad moments. Use your personal occasion to help seriously ill children and young people. In this way, you will spread the idea of the Balthasar Children's and Youth Hospice and motivate others to get involved. There are various ways to do this:

  • Donations at a personal celebration
You can ask your guests for donations instead of gifts at a celebration. You can either collect the donations or your guests can transfer the donations directly to us. To do this, please agree a keyword for the transfer with us in advance. Upon request, each of your guests will receive a donation receipt.

  • Events
If you would like to organise a charity event, please contact us. We can provide you with information material for display, donation tins, posters or roll-up banners. We look forward to personal contact with you and are happy to offer you the opportunity to hand over donations in person after the event.

  • Condolence donation
As a relative who has lost a loved one, you can forego flowers and wreaths in honour of the deceased and ask for a donation instead. In the obituary, you already have the opportunity to make a donation to the Balthasar Children's and Youth Hospice Foundation.

You can also support the Balthasar Children's and Youth Hospice Foundation in various ways at work or as an employer:

  • One-off donation or endowment
We would be delighted if you would like to support the work of the Balthasar Children's and Youth Hospice financially. Your donation to the Balthasar Children's and Youth Hospice Foundation is tax-deductible. We will of course issue you with a donation receipt.

  • Matching funds
It is an incentive if your own donation can mobilise additional funding amounts. It is also much easier to donate when you know that others are also doing something.
Motivate your employees to support the Balthasar Children's and Youth Hospice Foundation. As an incentive for employees, your company could double the amount. This way, the idea is supported by many committed employees.

  • Donations instead of gifts
Do you also find it difficult to find a suitable gift for all your customers? Perhaps we can help you by helping us!
Show your customers and business partners that you care about social projects. Take advantage of this meaningful alternative and support the Balthasar Children's and Youth Hospice Foundation with the amount you would normally budget for Christmas presents, for example.

  • Remainingcent campaign
The basic idea behind the "Remaining cent donation campaign" is: a small donation with a big impact. This means transferring the salary payment after the decimal point in favour of the Balthasar Children's and Youth Hospice Foundation in Olpe.
The cents after the decimal point of each employee's net income are then deducted from their monthly pay slip. In this way, between 1 and 99 cents per person per month can be transferred to our donation account.

  • Appeal for donations
Motivate your employees, customers or suppliers to get socially involved. Launch an appeal for donations on your website or in your employee magazine. We will be happy to provide you with information, logos and adverts.

The need for financial support

Providing professional and comprehensive care for children, teenagers and young adults with life-shortening illnesses, as well as their families, is not possible without the support of many people. Around 50 per cent of the total costs must be covered by donations. To enable families to stay at our centre without any financial burden, regular donations to the children’s hospice are essential. These funds ensure that the centre’s holistic approach can be maintained. Without this support from the community, our work could not be sustained in its current professional form.

Use of funds

The donations received for the children’s hospice are used in a targeted and responsible manner for the diverse tasks within the hospice. These include, for example, support for siblings, art and music therapy programmes, and bereavement support for families following the death of their children. Donations are also required for the maintenance of the specially adapted premises and for equipment. A portion of the staff costs is also funded by donations. Every contribution helps to consistently guarantee the high quality of care at ‘Balthasar’ and ensures that our guests find competent support in their respective life situations.

Transparency and reliability

For a charitable organisation, the responsible management of funds entrusted to it is of the utmost importance. Since 2016, the Balthasar Children’s and Youth Hospice Foundation has been audited annually by the German Central Institute for Social Issues and awarded the DZI Seal of Approval. This demonstrates that the foundation manages the funds entrusted to it with care and responsibility.  We place the utmost importance on transparency regarding the use of all children’s hospice donations. Donors can rest assured that their contributions will benefit the families affected at ‘Balthasar’. Please visit our website to find out about the many ways you can support us.
